Applying The Right Chemistry To The Science Of Mind

"A science of mind is a goal which has engrossed thousands of generations of Man. Armies, dynasties and whole civilizations have perished for the lack of it. Rome went to dust for the want of it. China swims in blood for the need of it. And down in the arsenal is an atom bomb, its hopeful nose full-armed in ignorance of it."

-L. Ron Hubbard

The science of mind basically relates to the understanding on how your mind works, how it influences you and your behavior. This also affects how it influences you to behave and react to various situations in your daily life. Once you understand the concept, you need to work with the science to bring self improvement and personal development for yourself. You need to understand your brain chemistry, what it needs, how to relax it and how to respond to it and most of all, how to control it.

One of the most important needs of the mind is meditation. Meditation gives your mind a chance to relax and to clear itself from stress and clutter. Meditation helps you to find the center of your subconscious and allows you to learn to control your thoughts and how to keep yourself calm. This is the most important aspect of science of mind. That is, to learn to control the power of it and give it time for its own. It is an organ that has infinite power and it needs to be relaxed in order to perform. So meditation is one of the basic needs of your mind.

Keeping your mind stimulated is another science of mind that can help us excel in our lives. By stimulating our mind on a regular basis, using mind illusions in particular, we learn to question, doubt and we also learn that things should not be taken at face value. This gives our mind the ability to question and to think differently while enhancing its perceptiveness.

Mind control is another science that we need to learn about the mind. Since it is an organ of immense power, we need to harness its power. We can make use of our mind to control others and ourselves. We can utilize this mind power and control it in a way so that it helps us achieve our goals. We can control our mind and learn to think on our feet and react quickly. The science of our mind permits us to do this and much more.

Our mind is an amazing creation of God. Its power is infinite. Even though we use a fraction of our brain power, we are able to accomplish more than we can imagine in our daily lives. Using more of our brain would make us creatures of perfection and intelligence. The science of mind needs to be understood so that we can bring improvements in our lives and excel better at what we do and lead successful lives by achieving our goals. The mind has a science of its own which is waiting to be discovered and used.

Salvaged Water: The Science of Wastewater Treatment

There are two different types of wastewater that are produced in the average household. These are greywater and blackwater. Greywater is made up of the water used to wash things in a home such as water from washing dishes, bathing and laundry. This water can be treated to be reused. Blackwater is the water that cannot be reused because it is too contaminated and is mostly wastewater from the toilet.

Environmental Impacts

Wastewater has been treated and reused for quite a long time in order to preserve the Earth's natural resources. The average home wastes a lot of water that can be reused. All it needs is to be purified through treatment and it will be completely safe to use again. Blackwater has to be separated from greywater because it can carry organisms that cause disease and is not considered safe to ever reuse. If blackwater is reintroduced to the environment, it can cause pollution and therefore must be removed entirely.

Greywater Treatment

If greywater is not treated very quickly, it may obtain anaerobic bacteria which is very dangerous and will cause the water to become useless. There are several different treatment systems that will purify greywater so that it can be used for various things such as washing clothes, watering plants, bathing and so on. Some treatment options are really only suitable for certain types of greywater, as well. For instance, a pre-treatment system that converts the anaerobic bacteria into aerobic bacteria is best for water that comes from washing dishes. Some of the other treatment options are soilboxes and gravity chambers. Water from washing laundry should be treated carefully if the detergents that were used contained bleach or if they were harsh detergents as they can be quite dangerous to plants. It is best to only use biodegradable and natural laundry soaps if this greywater is to be safely used for watering plants.

How Recycled Water Is Used

There are only specific areas in the United States that allow people to use recycled greywater. These areas have adopted the IPC or International Plumbing Code. The UPC, which stands for United Plumbing Code, does not permit the reuse of this type of water and some areas in the US follow this code. Greywater that comes from bathing or showering is used for toilet water in most of Australia and Europe. It is also used to irrigate crops and gardens when it is dispersed underground instead of sprayed directly onto the soil which is not considered safe in most cases. Treating greywater and reusing it can reduce the amount of water consumption by as much as 30% which is a large amount of waste that can be avoided.

Tristar Water offers a complete range of water, wastewater treatment and water purification equipment and services, designed to meet the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

Material Science Behind 3D Printing

3D printing is a very fascinating technology in my opinion. This technology allows for the manufacturing of almost anything from a wide variety of materials. It is different from other forms of manufacturing, as it can use designs that are geometrically independent. The layer by layer process allows for the production of almost any shape! I plan on highlighting some of the materials offered through this process, but first I'm going to cover what 3D printing is.

3D printing is the layer by layer assembly of products through the melting or fusion of materials through various methods. These methods include curing liquid resins into*solids, laser melting, fused deposition modeling, and ink jet methods. For the process to work, a 3D design will have to be created on the computer by an artist or 3D engineer. This design will then be sent to a 3D printer, or the machine that will actually manufacture the product. Whichever 3D printer being used will take the 3D design, and the computer within the printer will acknowledge the dimensions, shapes, and thicknesses of each model. The manufacturing process will then take place when the "print button" is pressed. Once started, the process is entirely automated. The machine will begin creating a physical model based off of the design, one layer at a time. These layers are typically very small; most machines offer layers that range from 20-30 microns. The diameter of a human hair is around 20 microns. A 6 inch tall 3D print would likely consist of over 800 miniature layers! This layer by layer process can create very intricate and organic shapes that other manufacturing methods cannot; it is also relatively affordable. The variety of materials to print in is pretty significant as well. Let me elaborate.

When looking into 3D printing, the variety of material choices is very large. In fact, over 60 materials exist. These materials can cover a wide array of purposes, and each is different. Common materials include polycarbonates and ABS plastics. ABS is probably one of the most popular, and there are around 10 different colors to choose from. Precious metals even have a say in 3D printing; materials such as gold, sterling silver, fine silver, and platinum exist through 3D printing. Industrial plastics like PA 2200 exist to withstand various chemicals and high temperatures. There is also a large market for 3D printing metals out there; these metals include: aluminum, cobalt chrome, titanium, Inconel, two forms of stainless steel, bio chrome, bronze, maraging steel, and nickel alloy. Materials exist for very specific purposes, let me elaborate. Some materials within the Objet tango family are very flexible, and are used to prototype various products such as the rubber within cell phones. Vero materials can be used for "snap on" parts. There are a variety of wax materials that hold exceptional detail for wax casting. Other resins and materials are used to hold great detail for character models and similar applications. Some materials are fully translucent. Materials such as zp150 hold a full array of colors for character models.

Regardless of your prototyping needs, there is a material that exists for it! If you're looking to have a part made for the internals of a jet engine, 3D printing can save the day. If you need a precise character model, 3D printing will save the day. Whether you're making jewelry, or you're making a product, 3D printing will have a material that can get the job done when it finally comes down to prototyping!

A Comparison of Software Engineering and Computer Science

Organizations of higher learning are still not in agreement of what is meant by many technical levels, such as application technological innovation and PC technological innovation. These areas, along with it, computer, and PC technological innovation technological innovation, are simply too new. Therefore, what one school or employer thinks as a requirement PC technological innovation may be viewed by another as application technological innovation? In the start, computer systems were hard-wired to perform a certain function. The individual did little more than impact a button. Allowing greater individual management led to the progression of coding dialects and compilers to change "normal" terminology into PC terminology. On-line began to come into its own with the progression of the laptop or PC. Simple dialects such as BASIC gave more management to the average individual. This laid the fundamentals for the application professional, who not only understands the program but the physical abilities of the hardware. One method of analyzing the variations between application technological innovation and PC technological innovation is to consider how most models were managed by the first PCs.

Often, changing and printing device functions such as typeface dimension, number of duplicates, or paper dimension required coming into the proper printing device sequence in DOS. The individual may enter the details in the application or in the printing device dialogue box. Some institutions require CS degrees to take Microsoft Office as their first coding course. By the same small, application technical engineers may be finished without a simple understanding of wireless technological innovation. Not too many years ago, PC technological innovation roles were often filled by those with other levels, such as domestic electricians. Software technical engineers were usually thosd with coding skills, many of whom held no degree at all but were self-taught.

Personal Computer technology is generally the research of concepts of calculations and how they apply to Personal Computer. Plasma Science Saving Lives in the Home: Fact or Marketing Fiction

Can Plasmas Save Lives?

Plasmas can be very hostile environments so why would we want to create a plasma in our house, is this dangerous? In reality, plasmas are used for many useful things such as lighting. Fluorescent tubes contain plasma as well as the newer energy-saving lights. The plasma forms when an electrical current heats any free electrons; these hot electrons collide with the gas and knock off an extra electron from the gas forming a positive ion. A positive ion is a gas atom with an electron removed. Now we have two free electrons and a free ion. The free electrons are quickly heated in the electric field and cause more electrons and ions to appear. This is called an avalanche, and the effect is used in a Geiger counter to detect electrons from radioactive material. Detecting radioactivity can save lives, but a more important device is the smoke detector.

An Elephant on a Motorway

In a smoke detector a weak corona plasma is formed and current flows via electrons across the smoke detector. Normally, with no smoke the plasma current is undisturbed and a stable current is reached; but when the smoke enters the plasma region the electrons collide with the smoke particles. It is a little like elephants walking on a motorway, suddenly everything goes much slower. The plasma current drops and the smoke alarm sounds. So plasmas can save lives even in our house.

Plasma Cluster Based Ion Purifiers

A recent new technology uses the same idea of electrons colliding with dust particles. It is called an Ionic purifier. When the electrons collide with the dust they stick to the surface, this causes the dust clusters to become negatively charged. The ions also collide with the dust but the ions are much heavier and therefore much slower, so more electrons hit the dust than ions. In a purifier a weak plasma is formed and any dust particles present are charged up negatively. An electric field with a positive and negative side is set up and the dust is attracted to the positive side. The dust is then collected and removed from the air. This is very important as some people are allergic to dust and mites that float in the air.

Plasma Sterilization

The weak plasma also has some more useful effects. When the electrons are heated in the electric field they collide with gas atoms and molecules and knock off electrons, this is called ionization or ionization to our American cousins. But not all electron collisions successfully knock off the electron from the atom, some collisions just shake the atom or molecule and cause the electrons to enter an excited state. These atoms or molecules with excited electrons are called radicals. Radicals can collide with other gas atoms or molecules and form short-lived chemicals called metastable states. These metastable molecules or atoms are highly reactive because the electrons are excited and they will react with cells or other living organism, killing them. They do not travel far as they are short-lived so the effect is localized but careful design is required to prevent a build up of radicals that might be harmful. Normally, the metastable states quickly decay into harmless air molecules. The weak plasma can excite oxygen and turn it into a sterilizing agent which is short-lived. This cleans the air in the purifier of dangerous microbes that could harm your health.

I look forward to other new Plasma Technologies that can improve our lives and if you are interested to learn more about plasma science and technology then please visit my Blog.

The Science of Intuition

The good thing about confusion is that it puts people in a place of not knowing. In order for new ways of thinking to develop you need to be in a state of not knowing. Unfortunately we live in a world where people are rewarded for knowing. Those who don't know don't succeed. Just look at the education system, who gets the highest marks those who know the answers. At work who gets the big bucks those who come with the answers. Whilst there is nothing wrong with having answers it is where these answers are coming from that is the problem.

The societal pressure of needing to have all the answers prevents people from accessing their intuition as intuition comes from a space not knowing. How do you break this cycle? Firstly you need to accept that in order to access your intuition you have to suspend judgement and opinion and enter a space of not knowing. Unfortunately this is just the beginning for even when you do enter this space you will still want to filter the incoming information so that it fits with your existing reality.

Why do we filter information? Because your existing reality is familiar and comfortable and anything that differs from it will make you feel uncomfortable and sometimes even fearful. However the real fear is fear of the unknown. It is important to recognise here that the unknown is anything outside your current beliefs and attitudes (i.e neural connections) Most of us need to be in control and being in control means knowing what to expect. This need for control helps us feel safe. You need to ask yourself what are you keeping yourself safe from?

Most people don't have a good answer to this question for how can you be afraid of something that you don't know. When you combine that with the way the brain works you can see that fear of the unknown is just your brain saying hey that isn't part of our current way of thinking. No more no less.

The other reason you filter out the truth is that your beliefs and attitudes are based on your past experiences (remember the first 12 years) and many of these are based on fear. Honestly ask yourself how many times a day do you fear something? Whether it be interactions with people, attending a meeting, being asked a question, learning a new skill, not having enough money the list is endless. Often these fears are not in your highest interests and limit your ability to live your best life. The reality is that these fears act as a defence against the truth. So what is the solution? Firstly you need to accept that many of your fears are based on your perception of past events and then you need to ask yourself is that perception the truth?

Most people would argue that it feels like the truth to them. However there are two things to consider here. Firstly is individual perception the truth? If this were so then this would mean there is no truth because everyone's perception is different?

Secondly because something happened ten or twenty years ago does that make it relevant to the here and now? The brain unfortunately takes the past and places it in the now and then projects it on to the future ensuring that your circle of thinking remains intact.

If fear is based on your perception of the past how much sense does this make? Not much, but knowing this doesn't remove the feelings of fear that precipitate behaviours and hence reinforce thought. Now it comes down to feelings. What are your feelings based on? Thoughts, beliefs and attitudes born out of your perceptions of the past. A nice little vicious circle.

How do you bypass this and stay in the present moment because this is where your intuition resides? When you truly understand that your feelings come from your brain and are based on what you think. You can then ask yourself whether you want to continue to be at the mercy of your programmed brain or choose to live in the now and use your intuition.

Let's say for example you decide to go through the process of doubt, fear and not knowing. You clear your mind of all thought and hold a space where you just allow the truth to enter. In comes the truth but it doesn't match your current way of thinking. It may suggest that you do something that you wouldn't ordinarily do. Immediately the red flags go up, this can't be right I am not doing that. Such thoughts include this doesn't make any sense or you experience a real fear with taking that action. So you dismiss it and go back to reinforcing your currently held beliefs.

Before you dismiss it you have to ask yourself is what I am seeking guidance about important enough to me to suspend thought and fear and give it a go. This is where the power of doubt, confusion and not knowing come in. Until you get to that point of employing doubt, confusion and not knowing you are going to dismiss your intuition. In fact not only are you going to dismiss it you are not even going to sense it.

Unfortunately the way life works is that you have to get to a point where it isn't working and you experience enough pain either physically or emotionally to take a chance and bypass your beliefs and fears and listen and act on your intuition. Seems a silly way to live life when you think about it. Even more interesting is that when you look at it from this perspective you can see that intuition is usually associated and linked with pain in some way. No wonder people avoid it.

In order to move past fear and access intuition you need to be determined and be extremely vigilant for the truth. Because you haven't relied on intuition in the past you have little or no faith in it. You would prefer to put your faith in a brain that makes erroneous associations between perception and events and leaves you unhappy and fearful. When you truly get this it sounds insane but that is what most people do and further more they do it unconsciously. No awareness what so ever that their life is being ruled by unconscious fear based thinking.

You need to ask yourself what is it that you want to put your faith in. Your existing thought patterns and beliefs or in developing a system of thinking that is outside your brains rational operating model. The choice is yours. Remember you always have a choice. You cannot make a choice of living your life through your brains programmed responses and then complain when life isn't working for you. In choosing to live your life through the use of intuition it won't always feel comfortable but eventually it will lead you to making the correct choices so that you can find more joy, peace, love and happiness.
